Bray Wanderers prepare to host Cobh Ramblers this week aiming to extend a three-game winning run that has stays in the promotion race. The Seagulls sit second in the First Division with 53 points from 33 matches, 18 points behind leaders Cork City but firmly in control of their own playoff destiny.
Their recent form shows three wins and a draw from the last four outings. Victories over Kerry, Treaty United and a 3-1 away win at UCD last time out have built significant momentum. Ben McCormack, Rudi Ferizaj and Toluwanimi Sammy were all on the scoresheet in that win at the UCD Bowl.
Head-to-head advantage
Recent history favours the home side ahead of this fixture. Bray Wanderers have won the last two meetings against Cobh Ramblers, including a 2-1 victory at St Colman's Park in late July. They also recorded a comprehensive 5-1 home win back in May.
Cobh Ramblers, currently fifth, have had mixed results but showed they can be dangerous with a 3-2 win away to Cork City earlier in September. Their last five games, however, show just that single victory.
The starting eleven that beat Treaty United 2-0 featured goalkeeper Robbie Hogan and a midfield anchored by Brandon McCormack and Jibril Sesay, with Enda Mustali and Rudi Ferizaj providing the goals.
The match at the Carlisle Grounds offers a chance to strengthen their grip on second place. Bray Wanderers' next game is at home to Cobh Ramblers on Friday, October 2nd.
