New Arrival: Conor McManus Joins Bray Wanderers
Gareth Ainsworth has made a shrewd signing by bringing in 22-year-old defender Conor McManus from Brentford. The move is set to significantly bolster the Bray Wanderers' defence, adding depth and versatility to their squad.
McManus began his grassroots football journey with Cabinteely FC before joining Bray Wanderers, where he honed his skills until signing for Brentford in December 2022. His primary role at Brentford was as a left-back, but his adaptability allows him to play across the entire backline.
McManus' Excitement and Ambitions
Speaking to Gills TV, Conor expressed his enthusiasm about joining Bray Wanderers: 'I am delighted to be here; it is somewhere I want to be. I'm looking forward to the season ahead. I am energetic, willing to work hard, and am someone young and hungry. It's a really good group of lads, and I'm ready to go. This is probably, physically, the best I have felt going into any season.'
McManus' competitive debut for Bray Wanderers could come in this Saturday's Carabao Cup match against Luton Town. The young defender brings a wealth of experience and potential to the team, with his former status as a Republic of Ireland U21 international adding to his credentials.
With McManus on board, Bray Wanderers are well-positioned to face upcoming challenges in both domestic and cup competitions.
